LOTS of things on the bucket list-yikes

So the news I wanted to share a few weeks ago . . .  I had a FREE trip to Hawaii -wow-I was super excited and its was so nice to go BUT its sooo nice to be home!!  It was awesome, it was great, but what was I thinking-it was terribly hard to be away from John for 7 days-by day 4, I would have gladly hopped a plane to be home!!  But, I’m so glad I went,I did get some good quality time with my brother & son, not to mention get to visit & see one of the things on my bucket list (Pearl Harbor).   As you can see in 3rd picture, Justin & I were able to meet & visit with a Pearl Harbor survivor-Mr. Herb Weatherwax-such a sweet & honorable  man.  I had goosebumps from my head to my toes.  WOW-Pearl Harbor was definitely highlight of all sites in Oahu-not just because I love history-but it was the most emotional experience, if you get the chance, DO take it-you will be speechless and no one can describe it to you!!  The saddest part of that day was seeing it without  John (former history teacher).  John has always wanted to see Pearl Harbor and he couldn’t get off work :(

Talking about bucket lists . . .I’m kinda getting an eerie feeling . . . In the past 8 months, I have been able to do these 5 things on my bucket list (highlighted).  John & I drove the  Natchez Trace (beautiful, slow & peaceful) for my birthday; Mom & I visited Charleston & Savannah while going to see my nephew graduate from Marine Boot Camp;  John & I toured Boston during this year’s School Board Convention (well, mostly me since he was in classes every day  ha ha).  Anyway, counting my blessings for some great experiences & some good quality alone time & travels with my husband, mom, son &  brother.  Maybe this is just what its like when you get old  ha ha.  But feels like a dream to me!!!  Sure hope I’m not checking out soon :) , but when that happens, wow, its been a wonderful ride.

P.S.  I still miss all of you immensely BUT it sure was nice to go away & not be on call 24/7 with store stuff  :)

Check in tomorrow-I’ll share some scrapbook pages-Carly’s book is almost ready-have to complete 21 MORE pages to complete her “LIFE” album for her graduation present!!

Happy Scrappin’
